MQS Interconnection Systems
TE Connectivity’s (TE) Micro Quadlok System, MQS, interconnection system offers high packing density, robust construction and highest functional requirements. Despite its miniaturized design, it fulfills all requirements for a contact system suitable for use in automobiles and covers a wide range of application sectors in both waterproof and non-waterproof areas.

MQS Terminal System
The MQS contact separates electrical and mechanical functions for superior reliability: a high-performance contact body ensures conductivity, while a steel cantilever spring delivers secure retention. Featuring four-point square mating, strong primary and secondary locking, and multiple wire sizes and platings, MQS supports up to 7.5 A. The Quadlok family extends from MQS to MPQ and PQ solutions, enabling scalable power up to 45 A for space-constrained applications.
Benefits
- High performance copper alloy for sustained performance throughout lifetime
- Redundant four-point square contact point mating technology provides higher reliability on 0.63 x 0.63mm pins
- High vibration level supported (connector dependent)
- Wide application coverage supports wire sizes from 0.08 to 0.75 mm² with tin, silver, or gold plating options.
- Ideal for tight spaces: flexible foil crimp terminals suit high-density applications such as battery cell modules
- Secure terminal retention: stainless steel locking lance delivers high primary locking force in a compact form factor
- Enhanced safety: integrated secondary locking from the MQS connector prevents terminal back-out
- Sealed and unsealed versions-40C up to +120C (tin) and +140C (silver and gold) temperature range
- Scalable power solutions: Quadlok portfolio extends from MQS to MPQ and PQ terminals, supporting currents up to 45A
- Efficient power handling carries up to 7.5A at 80 °C in a compact terminal design
- Flexible system integration: common secondary locking level across Quadlok terminals enables easy mixing within housings.
MQS Connectors
The MQS interconnection system delivers one of the most compact automotive connector solutions, with fine-pitch centerlines - 2.54mm x 2.54mm for unsealed applications and 4.0mm x 3.54mm for sealed applications, while the NanoMQS portfolio addresses even higher packaging demands. Available in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board designs, MQS supports flexible configurations, multiple key codings, and ergonomic, safe assembly.
The MQS connector portfolio ranges from low (2-16 position) to medium and high (>40 positions) pin counts on the receptacle side using secure click-in terminal insertion for smaller connectors and lever-assisted mating for higher positions. Built on a plug uniform base centerline, the MQS interconnection ranges from MQS and Micro Power Quadlok (MPQ 2.8) to Power Quadlok (PQ 5.2) systems, enabling higher current capabilities and greater PCB design freedom.
