Field Safety Barriers
The FF/PA Ex barrier is known as a Field Safety Barrier and incorporates an individual intrinsic safety barrier for each spur output, providing power and the communication signal for each field instrument.
Ex i Profibus PA and Foundation Fieldbus Field Safety Barriers. These are network spurs that incorporate an individual intrinsic safety barrier for each spur output, providing power and communication signal to each field instrument. They allow for the exchange of equipment connected to the spurs while the network is energized.

- Restart function: in case of a short circuit, sequentially energizes the spurs, preventing overload on the main trunk.
- Energy Saver: in case of a short circuit in the spurs, the barrier does not supply the maximum current of 40 mA, limiting itself to periodically testing the existence of the overload with short pulses, and only after resolution does it resume powering the spur.
