Connectors Designed to RAST Standards
TE's RAST connector system features crimp and insulation displacement contact (IDC) solutions designed according to either RAST 2.5 or RAST 5 standards. RAST IDC connectors, including AMP multifitting connectors, AMP MONO-SHAPE connectors, and AMP DUOPLUG connectors, are designed for safe and fast automatic production lines, while RAST crimp products, including RAST 5 standard timer connectors, Positive Lock RAST 5 connectors, and FASTIN-FASTON RAST 5 connectors, are easily applicable in manual productions. Headers meeting the RAST standard are available in both vertical and right-angle configurations. RAST connectors are commonly used in household appliances, including washing machines, dishwashers, cooking equipment, and refrigeration.

Featured Products
Monoplug 2.5 is a RAST-compliant IDC connector designed for easy assembly across various production methods. Its through-hole design supports daisy chain and bus applications without needing a separate cover. Available in 2 to 13 positions, it supports 24–22 AWG wires with insulation diameters of 1.2–1.6 mm, and offers front or front-and-rear keying options. It can mate with PCB headers or directly to PCB edges using a frame.
TE’s RAST 2.5-compliant PCB connectors are designed for vertical through-hole applications, offering 3 to 15 positions with internal or external locking. They support tin or silver plating, multiple color options, and various keying configurations for customization. These connectors are ideal for wire-to-board connections in appliances and control units, meeting safety standards like UL94 V-0 and IEC 60335-1 (GWT 750°C). They are available in fully or selectively loaded versions for flexible, cost-effective integration.
RAST 5-compliant PCB connectors are designed for vertical through-hole applications with 5 mm pitch, offering 2 to 8 positions and three footprint layouts. They feature external locking, tin or silver plating, and multiple color and keying options for customization. These connectors meet key safety standards including UL94 V-0 and IEC 60335-1 (GWT 750°C). Ideal for wire-to-board connections in appliances and control units, they support thousands of configuration possibilities for flexible and optimized integration.
AMP MONO-SHAPE connectors are modular IDC systems designed for flexible, high-efficiency harness production. They support up to 16A current and accept wire sizes from 0.5 to 1.5 mm². Built on a 5.0 mm pitch with in-line mating and multiple keying options, they offer variants for PC boards, RAST 5 tabs, and harness shunts. The IDC termination ensures reliable connections and supports complex harness designs with minimal wiring faults through automation.
AMP Multifitting Mark II Connectors
AMP Multifitting Mark II connectors are designed to meet modern standards for in-line mating and PC board applications. They support a wide wire size range and offer up to 16A current capacity. Available in direct (2–8 positions, up to 6A) and indirect (1–9 positions, up to 10–16A) versions, they feature exterior locking and optional interior locking. Supplied in chain with keying and polarization ribs, they are optimized for automated tooling and cost-effective operation.
RAST 5 Standard Timer Connectors
AMP Standard Timer connectors, built to RAST 5.0 mm standards, are designed for reliable connections in household appliances like motors, pumps, and switches. They support high current capacity up to 16A and wire sizes from 0.5 to 2.5 mm², with options for double termination. Available in 2 to 12 positions with various keying and locking features, the housings allow end-to-end stacking without contact loss. Supplied in chain form, they are compatible with automated tooling for efficient and secure assembly—even with angled mating.
FASTIN-FASTON RAST 5 Connector System
The FASTIN-FASTON RAST 5 connector system standardizes the 5 mm centerline interface for household appliance components, using 6.3 x 0.8 mm tabs with keying, polarization, and locking features to prevent mismating. It supports major RAST 5 connector families including AMP MONO-SHAPE, AMP Multifitting, AMP Standard Timer, and Positive Lock systems. Designed for panel and motor mounting, it offers 2 to 10 positions, secondary locking, and compatibility with automated tooling. It meets IEC 60335-1 standards (Glow Wire 750°C, no flame) and is RoHS compliant.
Positive Lock RAST 5 Connectors
The Positive Lock RAST 5 connector system is designed for secure mating with .250 x .032 [6.35 x 0.81] tabs on 5 mm centerlines, commonly found in appliance, marine, and tool applications. It uses Positive Lock Mark III receptacles and housings with built-in keying and polarization to prevent mismating and crossed wires. Available in 2 to 8 circuit housings, it supports wire sizes from 22–18 AWG to 18–14 AWG, including double wire options. Terminals come in plain brass or tin-plated versions, and the system is compatible with automated tooling for efficient assembly.
The AMP DUOPLUG 2.5 connector system is a RAST 2.5-compliant solution for PCB edge and header applications using a single female part. It features IDC slots for fast wire termination and supports high-speed, low-reject production. Available in one-piece and two-piece formats, it includes keying, wire strain relief, protected contacts, and defined wire insertion depth. Custom header versions and tooling enable efficient cable assembly with connectors on one or both ends.
The AMP DUOPLUG Power connector is a cost-effective IDC system designed for fast, safe harness production in PC board and component applications. Based on the RAST 2.5 standard, it supports wire sizes from 0.35 to 0.75 mm² (AWG 22–18) and current ratings up to 6A. It features dual IDC slots, excellent contact protection, low housing height, and optional internal locking. The system is compatible with a full range of tooling—from hand tools to fully automated machines—and supports efficient processing with minimal setup time.
