Powering Energy-Efficient AC Designs

TE offers connectors, sensors, relays, heat shrink tubing and more to enable your latest, most efficient air conditioner designs. TE also offers hermetic compressor interfaces that can integrate the termination of the magnet wire as well as the drive control wires.

Precision components for air conditioner performance & reliability. Between harnesses, main control and user interface, outdoor control, fan/blower, temperature switch/sensor, and 4-way valve, TE Connectivity offers a variety of connectors, relays, and more that will maximize efficiency for air conditioner designs.

Harness

The wiring harness interconnects the printed circuit board (PCB) to the various components throughout the air conditioner. It is a collection of wiring terminals and connectors that sends signals and power to the motor, switches, and sensors. A typical wire and harness would include power and signal connectors, terminals and splices, and heat shrink tubing.

Main Control & User Interface

The printed circuit board (PCB) is responsible for controlling the temperatures, moto's functionality and the overall air conditioning cycle. On a typical PCB, you will see wire-to-board power and signal interconnects, relays, and sockets.

Outdoor Control

TE offers hermetic compressor interfaces that can integrate the termination of the magnet wire as well as the drive control wires and circuit protection.

Fan / Blower Motor

All air conditioning units have an electric fan or blower to distribute cooled air to the room. Magnet wire terminals or splices are used to connect the winding of the fan or blower motor to the power source or to a motor control board. These can be individual terminations or can be integrated into one-piece connector or motor I/O assembly for faster assembly.

Temperature Switch / Sensor

More robust than in other appliance applications, these connections sense the temperature and send the data to printed circuit board (PCB) sensor. A thermostat is set at the desired temperature and a sensor controls the compressor to maintain this set temperature. Temperature switches and sensors are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals.

4-Way Valve

The four-way valve is a fluid control valve whose body has four ports equally spaced round the valve chamber and the plug has two passages to connect adjacent ports.
