Optimize Your Insulation Materials and Designs

TE Connectivity products can be used for refrigerators and freezer parts. As the electricity consumption declines even as interior volumes of refrigerators and freezers expand, TE remains committed to efficient and economic solutions.

Refrigerators are evolving rapidly, becoming smarter and more efficient. TE offers connectors that can be foamed in place to help reduce assembly time and minimize insulation voids. Additionally, our sensors and relays can help to maintain tight control of the cooling cycle. Find TE products below that can assist you in your search.

Harness

The wiring harness interconnects the control board to the various components throughout the refrigerator, such as compressors, temperature control switches, temperature sensors, ice makers, fans, etc. A typical wiring harness would include power and signal connectors, terminals and splices, heat shrink tubing and labels.

Main Control & User Interface

Basic refrigerators control cooling directly from thermostats. Higher-end refrigerators control temperature, cycle to reduce frost, control icemaking, etc. from a Control Board. A typical Control Board will have wire-to-board power and signal connectors, sockets and relays.

Compressor & Inverter Control

The compressor forces refrigerant through a throttle as part of the cooling cycle. A control circuit may be near the compressor to control speed or duty cycle. Magnet wire terminals or splices connect the compressor winding to the control circuit or power source. These connections may be within a hermetically-sealed connector or an integrated I/O for faster assembly.

Evaporator & Condenser Fan

The evaporator warms the freezer compartment and evacuates moist air with a fan to prevent frost. Evaporators are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors like MATE-N-LOK.

Ice Maker

The ice maker freezes incoming water into cubes for dispensing. Ice makers are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals or multi-position connectors like MATE-N-LOK connectors.

Temperature Switch / Sensor

A thermostat or temperature switch is set at the desired internal temperature. The temperature sensor controls the compressor to maintain this set temperature. Temperature switches and sensors are connected to the wiring harness using individual terminals.
