Network Terminators
The DP-RT network terminator functions to match the network impedance, eliminating communication errors caused by distortion of the communication signal.
Terminator for Profibus DP Network
In cases where the Profibus DP network presents an impedance mismatch, the signal encounters a barrier that causes a signal reflection, with an amplitude proportional to this mismatch. This reflection, in the opposite direction, will be superimposed on the transmitted signal, causing serious distortions in the original signal, and may cause the network to restart. If the impedances are matched at all ends of the network, the reflection effect will be eliminated, and the network will function normally. The DP-RT-G network terminator has the basic function of matching the network impedance, eliminating these communication errors.
AS-Interface Network Terminator
For ASI network extension, the use of repeaters and power supplies is no longer the only solution. With the passive terminator, it is possible to extend the network to a distance of up to 200m; however, careful network verification is recommended through monitoring the number of repeated telegrams (using an ASI analyzer). If the impedance compensation is satisfactory, this is the most economical option for network extension. The terminator has Ex mb protection (resin encapsulation), which allows its installation in potentially explosive gas or dust atmospheres, in zones 1 or 21.
