Belt Misalignment Sensors
Belt misalignment sensors are temperature or contact sensors connected to sacrificial plates that detect misalignment problems in elevators and belt conveyors. When a belt becomes misaligned or when a pulley moves against the plate, the system temperature increases and the sensor sends a signal to the PLC (temperature sensor) or opens the contact (normally closed thermostat). This signal is used to activate an alarm and immediately shut down the machine. The sensor is unaffected by dust and will function even when completely covered. The sensors are typically installed on both sides of the belt.
