Overview
Dual-rated design supports both copper and aluminium, reducing inventory complexity

TE Connectivity (TE) crimp-type compression lugs and splices provide reliable electrical performance and corrosion resistance. They are made from high-conductivity aluminium and are electro-tin-plated to resist electrolytic corrosion for applications ranging from 600 V to 35 kV. Compression lugs and splices are available to accommodate cable sizes from 1/0 AWG to 750 kcmil in copper and aluminium, in one- or two-hole configurations.

The barrels are chamfered for easy conductor entry and pre-filled with oxide inhibitor to prevent contamination. The extended barrel length provides effective conductor contact after crimping. The barrel caps are colour-coded to match the required die set and help protect the inhibitor before installation.

Question: Are these connectors suitable for aluminium and copper conductors?

Answer: Yes, they are tin-plated aluminium and are suitable for both aluminium and copper conductors.

 

Question: Can these connectors be used on fine-strand wire, such as DLO (Diesel Locomotive Cable)?

Answer: In some cases, yes. Please contact TE Customer Care for size recommendations.

 

Question: Can these connectors be used for overhead high-tension applications?

Answer: No, these connectors are designed for underground distribution and are light-duty products with a minimum tension rating.
