Overview
The 112M series heavy duty direct immersion RTD probe is constructed with a heavy duty, reduced tip stainless steel sheath and a welded connection.

The welded connection is typically a 1/2” x 1/2” NPT, 1/2” x 3/4” NPT or 3/4” x 3/4”NPT connection. The connection is dual threaded for use with a connection head. The sensors are available with single or dual elements and are ideal for the process industry where immersion in the application is essential.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an RTD?
A: An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a sensor whose resistance changes as its temperature changes.  The resistance increases as the temperature of the sensor increases.  The resistance versus temperature relationship is well known and is repeatable over time. An RTD is a passive device.  It does not produce an output on its own.  External electronic devices are used to measure the resistance of the sensor by passing a small electrical current through the sensor to generate a voltage.

Q: What is the standard resistance of a platinum RTD?
