Our Raychem RSES Elbow Connectors 400A combine all the benefits of EPDM’s long service life with silicone rubber’s ease of installation characteristics.
Our Raychem RSES Elbow Connectors are designed to connect polymeric cables to medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, transformers, or motors that are using bushings type “B” according to EN 50180/EN 50181 specified for 400 A continuous current. The Elbow Connectors are compliant with CENELEC HD 629.1 S2 02/2006+A1:2008.
Elbow Connectors are a hybrid solution combining EPDM with silicone rubber. The durable EPDM insulation body provides reliable performance indoors and outdoors, especially in harsh environmental conditions. Plus, its rugged, high-performance capabilities enable easy handling during push-on and connection procedures. In addition, the flexible silicone stress cone adapter ensures fast and easy installations even on larger cable cross-sections.
A capacitive Voltage Detection (VD) point is built into every connector, which detects the presence of voltage in a cable network and thus helps avoid possible injury during operation and maintenance.
Watch the installation video of the new TE´s Raychem Screened Elbow Separable Connectors RSES for bushing type B, 400 A up to 36 kV.
Our Separable Elbow Connectors are engineered to optimize performance and solve your switchgear and transformer connection challenges in IEC, IEEE and GB/T power grids.
Question: What material are TE's Raychem screened separable elbow connectors made of?
Answer: Our Raychem screened separable elbow connectors are made of a combination of durable EPDM rubber for the main insulation body and highly modified silicone rubber (LSR) for the inner insulation (cable adapter).
Question: What is the continuous current rating of type B bushing?
Answer: Type B bushing has a continuous current rating of 400A.
Question: Should the screened separable elbow connectors be disconnected/dismantled when performing cable outer sheath testing?
Answer: Our screened separable elbow connectors have a shield-break design for cable outer sheath testing and don't require disconnection.
Question: How do I detect voltage presence using the screened separable elbow connectors?
Answer: Our screened separable elbow connectors are equipped with a capacitive Voltage Detection (VD) point that, in combination with voltage detection devices, can be used to determine the voltage presence.
Question: Are the screened separable elbow connectors safe to touch when installed?
Answer: Our elbow connectors use a conductive EPDM jacket, which provides protection against accidental contacts to ensure personnel safety.
