Heavy Duty Sealed Connector Series Backshells help protect the rear of the connection, add strain relief, and support sealing performance when used with compatible connectors in the Heavy Duty Sealed Connector Series. Rated environmental protection for the series is IP67/IP6K9K when used with a backshell.

1. Primary seal at the connector
   The connector housing and its seals create the main fluid/dust barrier at the mating interface.
2. Single wire sealing
   Individual wire seals (or the applicable rear-seal system) close gaps around each conductor so water and debris have fewer paths in.
3. Backshell engagement
   The backshell attaches to the rear of the connector and supports that sealed path while adding mechanical strain relief at the cable exit.
4. Choose the right exit interface
   • Jacketed-cable adapters clamp to common jacket diameters (see table below).
   • Corrugated-tubing adapters accept standard NW sizes (NW = nominal width for conduit/tubing).
     Both options help protect the harness from spray, dust, and vibration at the exit.
