The cable repair sleeves are quickly fitted in place by means of the rail and channel closure. A moisture-proof, insulating and tight-fitting repair is then obtained in one step by heating, which makes the sleeves diameter shrink and the inside sealant coating melt, flow and fill the damaged cable area. The CRSM wraparound sleeves fit a wide range of different cable diameters. The sealant exhibits excellent bonding and sealing characteristics to most of the substrates commonly used in the various cable and oversheath constructions, such as polymeric, rubber, lead and aluminium. The CRSM wraparounds are made of an abrasion resistant semi-rigid material and are a result of our extensive capability in materials technology. The CRSM wraparound sleeves are used in low voltage applications for insulation and sealing against moisture of cable joints and in low and medium voltage applications for sealing and mechanical protection, for outer rejacketing and for cable repair. The material content of the CRSM wraparounds are halogen-free and stabilized against UV irradiation. They have proven their long-term reliability in harsh climatic conditions and have an unlimited shelf-life when stored under normal conditions.
