RF relays for low level current switching
Signal relays are used for load switching typically under 2A but up to 40A. A signal relay is composed of coil that is secondary molded, which provides high insulation performance between the coil and the contact. Signal relays mainly have c-contact structure due to their purpose to switch current. They are compatible with reflow mounting and surface mount devices. Our signal relays offer contact reliability, even if for a small signal load, due to their gold-plated contacts and bifurcated crossbar structures. Signal relay are commonly used in gaming machines and peripherals, industrial devices such as machine tools, molding machines, welding machines, mounters, security devices, and testing and measuring devices.
TE signal relays can be used anywhere in the intelligent building system — in elevators and escalators, control panels, motion control systems, lighting, building systems, solar, HVAC, and an array of safety-critical applications to mention just a few. Our portfolio of cost-effective, reliable RF relays and withstand extreme shock, vibration, temperature and altitude. In escalators and elevators, our signal relays switch low signals (non-safety) and are used for pilot duty in elevator control boards. In HVAC systems, our signal relays are primarily used in thermostats to switch heating systems (pilot duty), offering a flat, small size and designed for high performance with switching current up to 5A. In safety and security systems, our signal relays are primarily used in alarm and security equipment through, for example, switch the motor to turn a security camera or switch the siren on in an alarm. Our portfolio signal relays including products from AGASTAT, AXICOM, Potter and Brumfield, PRODUCTS UNLIMITED, SCHRACK, OEG as well as TE.
Axicom IM Signal Relays
Axicom IM relays offer reliably and efficiently switch signal and low power in a small, low profile design. These products feature low coil power consumption supporting high density relay applications by reducing overall power consumption. These feature a shock-resistant design that can withstand shocks up to 300 g-force, making a feasible solution for industrial applications. This versatile electromechanical relay supports multiple contact configurations and is engineered for high volume applied technologies, such as automotive infotainment systems, communications equipment, consumer electronics, building management systems, test and measurement machinery, and medical devices.
This electromechanical relay is designed to address the need for small components that can fit into increasingly smaller technology applications. Our Axiom IM relays are available in a range of contact structures (1 form A, 2 form A, 1 form C, 2 form C) with a lower cost impact that using solid state relays. These relays can support battery powered applications, with a bistable relay for reducing the consumption of constant power. It is available in a through-hole (THT) and surface mount (SMD) version for use on printed circuit boards (PCBs). To support high-density technology footprints, we are now offering a narrow PCB solder configuration in a THT and SMD (JR) version. For high-dense relay applications, we offer a lower coil power version supporting reduction of overall switching power supporting environmental power reduction targets. These relays support telecom standards, including Bellcore GR 1089, FCC Part 68, and ITU-T K20.
