Class 1E (K1) Nuclear Qualified Heat-shrink Cable Accessories

A wide-ranging series of heat-shrinkable components and kits are available to help seal and insulate electrical connections in nuclear power plants. Made from heavy-wall, flame retardant, cross-linked polyolefin and pre-coated with a nuclear-grade adhesive, these products have been designed to withstand the radiation levels and temperatures that are possible inside the containment buildings of nuclear plants.

This array of nuclear power products has been designed for the specific needs associated with protecting many of the 200,000 connections that must be made throughout the typical nuclear power plant. These nuclear cable accessories have been subjected to very severe LOCA/HELB tests to establish their performance for a postulated nuclear accident environment.
