I like to take the challenges that customers have, and work with the Wildlife and Asset Protection team to solve them.
I started out with AMP in Harrisburg PA as a salesman in 1982, working the Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Montana territory. I later transferred to Binghamton, NY to work as an executive account manager and strategic product specialist focused on design centers and subcontractors. As part of AMP's management training program I moved to Greensboro, NC to work as product managment/manfacturing team lead and a few years later transtioned back into sales. In 2008, I joined the Energy business unit where I am a Business Development Manager for Wildlife and Asset Protection Products.
What is the single biggest achievement of your career?
I can't really think of an individual achievement that I would say is a "single biggest". I've been fortunate enough to have quite a few big ones over the years; several sales awards and patents. Reminds me of a song.... "I'd like to think the best of me is still hiding up my sleeve".
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Definitely the customer interaction, and the challenges they bring to us. I like to take those challenges and work with the Wildlife and Asset Protection team to solve them.
Who has made an impact on who you are today?
Only a few thousand people, and a whole lot of mistakes! Workwise my first sales manager, who showed me the ropes and implanted in me the seeds of positive thinking and personal honor. Awesome guy, extremely successful.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I like boating (power and sail) and fishing. I also have a 1963 Triumph and a 1959 house, both are in an endless state of restoration.
