Our SIMABUS High Voltage Rigid Bus Connectors is designed for rigid bus connections in AC & DC applications up to 500 kV (phase-to-phase voltage). The range includes mechanical support, joints, derivations and connections to terminal equipments (stud & pads) as well as accessories such as earthing stirrups, end caps/shieldings and dampers.
The Metric range covers Aluminum tubular conductors from 80MM O/D and up to 250MM O/D.
The Imperial range covers Aluminum tubular conductors from 2.5" and up to 6" for both SPS and EHPS dimensions.
To support this intensified demand, substations must have the right transfer capacity and robustness to ensure the power to flow where and when it's needed. Connectors installed in your new or retrofit substation can help you increase its reliability, robustness and performance. But more than that, the right connectors enable installation time and cost as well as power losses reduction. This is what our TE Connectivity high voltage substation ranges of connectors do.
Register and watch our webinar about modular bolted high voltage substation connectors for the IEEE and IEC markets.
Our mechanical substation connectors are available for rigid bus connections and overhead aluminium flexible conductors. They have been created to replace multiple connector types hence reducing lead time, eliminating waste and improving performances of your substations.
Question: What is the difference between TE’S SIMABUS and TE’s SIMAFLEX?
Answer: Our high voltage substation connectors can be broken into two categories: rigid bus (aluminum pipe) or flexible cable (cable conductors). SIMABUS are connectors designed and used on the rigid aluminum bus and SIMAFLEX are connectors designed and used on the aluminum flexible cables.
Question: What is the installation method of the SIMABUS Rigid Bus Connectors?
Answer: Our SIMABUS are bolted connectors for aluminum bus, along with bi-metallic sleeves that can be used on copper conductors.
Question: What voltage range do the SIMABUS connectors cover?
Answer: Our SIMABUS cover voltage range from 63 to 550 kV.
Question: What are the standards used for manufacturing SIMABUSsubstation connectors?
Answer: We manufacture and test our SIMABUS connectors to both IEC and ANSI/NEMA standards. For ANSI/NEMA standards, the connectors are manufactured and tested to ANSI CC1-2009 requirements. Test reports and additional information can be provided upon request.
