First generation 10Gbps lane CFP interconnects are being extended to support optical transport links from 20 to 100 kilometers in distance, while 25Gbps CFP2 and CFP4 interconnects are being used in 2 kilometer and longer links, or anything outside of the datacenter. The need for 2 to 20 kilometer links is being driven by datacenter network disaggregation and connectivity between local networks.

All of TE’s CFP products offer state-of-the-art signal integrity performance, reliability and thermal efficiency. The integrated system of connectors, cage components and heatsinks provide the mechanical, EMI and thermal performance necessary to meet the demanding requirements of the market and are designed to meet the CFP Multi Source Agreement specifications.
