TE Connectivity Launches Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies With One of the Shortest Terminated Lc Connectors in the Market
TE Connectivity (TE) today announced it has introduced new single-mode and multimode LC fiber optic cable assemblies for the data communications, telecommunications and industrial markets. These new assemblies include a 35.4mm terminated connector (from tip of the ferrule to the end of the boot) – one of the shortest available in the market – to offer customers with a connectivity solution for space-constrained applications.

TE SUBCOM Demonstrated 100Gb/s Upgrade Capability on Transatlantic Submarine Cable System Constructed in 2001
TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity Ltd. Company and an industry pioneer in undersea communications technology, today announced it has successfully demonstrated 100Gb/s per wavelength coherent transmission over trans-Atlantic distances in field experiments. Capacity on a single fiber was determined to reach 4.4 Tb/s, a result of SubCom's submarine optimized modulation format at 100Gb/s. SubCom's next generation C100 transceiver is designed to optimize DP-QPSK coherent transmission in ultra-long haul submarine cable systems. The benefits of the C100 technology apply to new systems based on +D fibers, as well as upgrades to existing systems with dispersion managed fiber.

TE Subcom Marks Crucial Milestone Toward Delivering World’s First Ultra-High Capacity, 100G-Based, New Undersea Cable System
TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity Ltd. Company and an industry pioneer in undersea communications technology, today announced it has successfully demonstrated 100Gb/s coherent transmission over trans-Atlantic distances at ultra-high 10Tb/s total capacity on a single fiber. The test was completed using a prototype of the company’s new, first generation smarTEr C100 transceiver. “This significant customer demonstration builds on a 60-year track record of commitment to specialized, long- haul undersea transmission research and development and success in delivering capacity-record-setting undersea cable systems,” said David Coughlan, CEO, TE SubCom. “Further, it is a notable step toward the delivery of the first generation of new, 100Gb/s subsea cable systems and marks the beginning of ultra-high, double-digit terabit per fiber pair deployments.”
