HARRISBURG, Pa., USA – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, introduces two new reflow capable connectors for customers who are changing their manufacturing processes to high performance reflow soldering of PCB assemblies. The reflow capable universal MATE-N-LOK connectors and Economy Power headers are both rectangular wire-to-board power connectors built on a tested solution where the thermoplastic housings are designed to withstand high temperatures associated with reflow soldering. Both connectors are suitable for a wide range of applications including appliances, HVAC equipment, security systems, power supplies, industrial machinery, elevators and escalators.

Reflow capable universal MATE-N-LOK connectors

These new headers in the MATE-N-LOK product family are designed with polarization features and a low contact mating force allowing for easy connections. With a standard 0.250-inch (6.35 mm) centerline, the headers mate with TE’s existing universal MATE-N-LOK connectors. TE’s reflow capable universal MATE-N-LOK connectors are designed for circuits rated 12A / 600VAC and can withstand temperatures between minus 40 degrees to 105 degrees Celsius. These new connectors are available with two to six positions in a single row and three to five positions in three rows. Users can opt for pin and socket style contacts, and product housings in black or white. The new product line conforms to UL 1977.

Reflow capable Economy Power (EP) connectors

TE’s high quality EP headers are designed as a shrouded header eliminating mis-mating due to alignment of the receptacle and header, and a positive audible latching further supports an error-resistant assembly. The standard 0.156 inch (3.96 mm) centerline allows for mating with TE’s existing EP II wire-to-board connectors. TE’s reflow capable EP headers are designed for circuits rated 12A / 600VAC and can withstand temperatures between minus 55 degrees to 105 degrees Celsius.
