LOW CONTACT RESISTANCE FOR OPEN COMPUTE PROJECT APPLICATIONS

Optimized for use in power and battery backup (BBU) shelves, cubby shelves and server sleds.

September 21, 2017

Harrisburg, Pa. – September 21, 2017 –  TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, today announced its new bus bar power connectors and cable assemblies for Open Compute Project (OCP) applications. These connectors and cable assemblies provide lower power consumption in power distribution applications as either a power supply or battery backup connection. This solution is specifically designed to meet Open Compute Project (OCP) application requirements, but can often be used where a 150A or 500A connection is needed.

These connectors and cable assemblies are a low cost, robust solution that offers low contact resistance and better heat dissipation than other power products that are currently offered in the market to ultimately reduce the cost of overall power consumption in the data center.

To cut down on part number qualification and inventory, the same bus bar connector can be used for either 48V or 12V applications and power or return. Customized cable assemblies are available.
