TE Connectivity adds tab contact to its miniaturized NanoMQS automotive interconnection system. Interconnection system can now be used for wire-to-wire connections and to contact black boxes.

TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensor solutions, today announced an addition to its NanoMQS miniaturized automotive interconnection system. The new NanoMQS tab contact broadens the portfolio of the popular NanoMQS technology to include wire-to-wire connections and contacting black boxes.
The tab contacts measures 0.5 x 0.4 mm and can be used to terminate wires with a cross section of 0.13 mm2 to 0.35 mm2. Similar to the receptacle contact, the tab contact features a locking lance and a secondary locking device. While the tab contact is designed for a 1.8 mm pitch, smaller centerlines are also possible.
TE’s NanoMQS interconnection system establishes highly vibration-resistant electrical connections, which have primarily been used in headers to contact the printed circuit board (PCBs) in control units. Despite its low mass and highly compact dimensions, the NanoMQS receptacle contact and crimp is designed to meet vibration resistance severity level 4 according to LV214. The new tab contact makes both sides of the interconnection system available from one source and on a high-quality level.
