Designed for reliable communications
Industrial RJ45 connectors are rectangular data connectors designed for Ethernet networking in industrial applications. Data rates of 10/100Mbps and 1Gbps are supported. Ethernet magnetics as discrete parts allow for customized Ethernet port layout optimized for EMC and/or overvoltage. All Ethernet Magnetic parts are SMD and reflow solderable. Our field-installable cable connectors are available for 2 pair (10/100Mbps) and 4 pair cables (1G/10Gbps) supporting Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A performance. Tool-less installation with automatic wire cut off helps ensure a high quality connection and short installation time.
Reliable communication standard. Our RJ45 product portfolio is a buildup of various form factors, RJ45 Jacks, Ethernet magnetics, and field installable cable connectors, also supporting Power over Ethernet (PoE), PoE+, PoE++ (IEEE802.3at and IEEE802.3bt). Our POLAMCO high-speed RJ45 connector systems incorporate a MIL-DTL-38999 and 26482 series III derived metal shell with full 360-degree EMC and mechanical protection and have been designed to meet the requirements of high-speed data connections.
FAQs
What is an RJ45 connector?
An RJ45 connector is a square-shaped connector type mainly used for Ethernet connections. The RJ45 connector is used in point-to-point connections while the earlier systems were based upon coax implementations. Connectors come in many variants and form factors: shielded/unshielded, 10/100Mbps and 1Gbps/10Gbps, Office and industrial grade products, Straight and Angled, IP20 and IP67, Overmolded and Field Installable cable connectors, PCB variants straight and with integrated magnetics.
What is the difference between RJ11 and RJ45?
RJ11 is a smaller 4 contact version of an RJ45 (8 contacts). RJ11 is often used for telephone and telephone headset connections, not used for Ethernet. RJ45 is the main connector standard for Ethernet.
Are cat5 and cat6A connectors the same?
The Ethernet cable performance is related to the Category marking. Cat5 indicates that the cable bandwidth is 125MHz, the cable is supporting Ethernet data rates up to 1Gbps. Cat6A indicates that the cable bandwidth is 500MHz, the cable is supporting Ethernet data rates up to 10Gbps. The Ethernet connector should be rated the same as the cable to ensure the maximum end to end performance of the system.
Which cable uses RJ45 connectors?
2 pair (4 wire) Ethernet Cable is typically used for 10/100Mbps data rates, while 4 pair (8 wire) cable is used for 1/10Gbps data rates. The category rating of the cable should be having the right value to support the required bandwidth and data rates as well.

About our products
Industrial applications require connectivity solutions that are corrosion proof, support higher temperatures and, rugged to withstand handling, shock/vibration and dust/moisture. Our industrial Ethernet solutions are engineerd for with these rugged environments in mind. They are able to handle temparatures up to 85 degrees Celsius, are design optimized to handle shock and vibration requirements and have 30 inch gold layers on the contacts to be corrosion proof. All board products are reflow solderable to prevent having our customers to use multiple solder processes for equipment production.
Also for termination of cables, rugged industrial grade products are required. Our products are easy and quick to install, can handle virtually all cable types by a single product and have been designed to be re-used in case an incorrect connection has been made. The connection itself should be steady and not show any micro-interupptions with heavy shock and vibration. Furtermore, our variant 1 and variant 14 series connectors are designed for customers are also requiring IP67 grade solutions.
