Hypodermic metal tubing

Hypodermic Metal Tubing

Hypodermic tubing is ideal for medical device applications that require strength, uniformity, and is corrosion resistant.

TE’s hypodermic tubing are welded and drawn to tight OD and ID tolerances and stocked in gauge sizes. We maintain both 304 and 316 stainless steels tubing in stock, typically in full-hard temper condition. 304 stainless steel hypodermic tubing are stocked in all sizes and wall thicknesses. 316 stainless steel hypodermic tubing is stocked in all gauges but primarily stocked in Regular Wall (RW) and Thin Wall (TW). Please note that our hypodermic tubing is not manufactured for pressure service.

Complete Offerings and Specifications

The Hypodermic Tubing table has been revised to address the inconsistency of past “standards” which vary by vendor. TE has attempted to meet as many of these old and varied standards as possible in this table. Although every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, no guarantee is granted or implied. Please verify your older prints. Unlike other tubing and pipe sizes, hypodermic tubing is specified by a gauge number that determines OD and ID of the tube, not the wall thickness.

Innovations in Laser Processing - Device Talks webinar
55 mins

The move toward smaller medical devices has established laser cutting & welding as critical methods of medical device manufacturing. These methods are complicated but essential processes for adding functionality such as improved steering, reach or flexibility when working with materials such as metals and polymers. In this webinar, TE discusses its laser processing capabilities in cutting and welding complex designs of metal components, from prototyping to automated high-volume production.
