CBS News did a story marking the 150th anniversary of the first transatlantic communications cable, in which TE SubCom was highlighted. Jon Dufour, vice president of manufacturing, SubCom, showed reporter Mark Albert how thin and strong the fiber optic strands are, and captain Jeff Sanders, SubCom, gave Albert a tour of TE's ship, Global Sentinel. As to laying these cable "highways," Sanders explained, "It's connecting the world and connecting families, and it's a mission that we enjoy doing."
