Together with its portfolio of charging cables, TE offers a complete charging system which sustains the development of hybrid and electric vehicles.
TE's modular set of AMP+ charging inlets is interchangeable among the different regional inlet types, with minimum impact on the body of a hybrid or electric vehicle. The mounting adaptor has been customized for the highest flexibility for end users. A simplified construction allows harness makers to easily assemble the inlet components. Reworked air and creepage distances for high insulation resistance and integrated temperature sensors ensure a safe and reliable charging process. AMP+ charging inlets are certified according to the most recent standards.
The charging inlets include a device for reliable detection of the lock and unlock position. Customized lighting for visual feedback while charging can be integrated. TE’s next generation inlets for DC and CCS types with currents up to 400A meet OEM requirements for fast charging inlets, allowing the batteries of plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles to charge in just 15 minutes. The next generation AMP+ charging inlet system will launch in 2017.
