These covers are made from a non-tracking silicone material that is suitable for harsh medium voltage outdoor environments. TE’s Raychem MVCC are split for easy installation. The MVCC are suitable for applications up to 25 kV phase to ground. Currently, four sizes are available and will fit conductors with diameters up to 44 mm (1.75”). The flexibility of the covers allows for installation on tight bends which is ideal for substation applications. Covers are designed to protect energized conductors from flashovers due to contact from birds and animals.
