Question: TE’s Raychem single-core polymeric cable terminations use which type of stress control?

Answer: Our Raychem single-core and three core polymeric cables tool-free termination, TFT, uses a non-linear stress control, utilizing a metal-oxide varistor (ZnO) green patch so the electric field is distributed differently based on the imposed electric field.

Question: The single-core polymeric cables terminations use which type of sealing compound?

Answer: Our single-core terminations utilize a sealing mastic over cable jacket and over the cable lug to prevent any dust or moisture ingress.

Question: Single-core cable terminations are made of what types of materials?

Answer: Our single-core terminations can be sold in kits that include the termination body and shear bolt lugs and pins.

Our cold shrink terminations 5/8, 15, 28 kV are a one-piece construction while the 35 kV is two pieces of specially-formulated silicone with tracking and split resistance. The termination design consists of an elastomeric housing with integral sheds that are formulated for long-term performance in harsh environments. The body comes in gray (E) or red (R) and is pre-expanded on a solid straight holdout, which makes it easy to install in confined spaces.

Question: Does TE offer any installation training for the single-core termination?

Answer: Yes, our Raychem single-core terminations are part of our training program. Visit TE.com/trainingcenter to learn more.
