SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland – Sept. 5, 2018  – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, will bring together three of its experts Sept. 19 to discuss how the convergence of high-speed data and real-time computing is changing the driving experience during a free live webinar entitled “Car to Cloud Technology.”

The conversation will focus on how advanced materials, miniaturization and new power and data architectures enable vehicle manufacturers to reliably connect in-vehicle technologies to the cloud. TE experts will also look to the nearing reality of 5G, in which manufacturers will use antennas and high-speed connectors to enable a safer, more autonomous driving experience. The free hour-long webinar begins at noon EDT.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Dominique Freckmann, Manager, Silicon Valley Tech Office, TE Automotive
Freckmann leads TE Automotive’s Silicon Valley Tech Office, whose mission is to anticipate and support the evolving needs of the local automotive industry with TE’s highly engineered connector and sensor solutions. This includes working with established automakers and suppliers, as well as newcomers from the high tech and startup scene, to enable the transition to connected, autonomous and electric vehicles by providing the technology and engineering required to turn concepts into viable commercial solutions.
  • Dr. Byron Hill, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, TE Sensor Solutions
Hill is responsible for the strategic direction of TE’s global engineering organization and for leading innovation within TE’s sensor solutions business. TE’s sensors are an integral part of today’s vehicles, providing crucial data to increase safety, comfort and efficiency.
  • Amitabh Passi, Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, TE Communications Solutions
Passi is responsible for setting the strategic direction of TE’s Communications Solutions segment, working closely with leadership to define and execute on growth priorities. TE’s cutting-edge communications solutions anticipate today’s big data needs – and account for tomorrow’s forward-looking designs.

“The growing number of sensors in a car will massively increase the amount of data that needs to be managed within the vehicle as well as to its external environment, be it to the infrastructure or the cloud,” Freckmann said. “Vehicle-to-everything, or V2X, connectivity allowing real-time analysis of our vehicles from anywhere will soon become the norm. TE is working closely with manufacturers around the world to bring this more connected future to our roads and highways.”
