The move toward smaller medical devices has established laser cutting & welding as critical methods of medical device manufacturing. These methods are complicated but essential processes for adding functionality such as improved steering, reach or flexibility when working with materials such as metals and polymers. In this webinar, TE discusses its laser processing capabilities in cutting and welding complex designs of metal components, from prototyping to automated high-volume production.
Product Group
Metal Tubing
TE Connectivity, through its acquisition of MicroGroup, is a leading supplier of small-diameter / thin-walled tubing for surgical, interventional and other medical device applications. We offer quick shipments from our extensive inventory—one of the world’s largest—available in various stainless-steel alloys, both welded and seamless.
Materials & Specifications
Materials
Stainless Steel Grades
Grade | Material |
---|---|
304 | Stainless Steel Tubing: Good for corrosion resistance: Most widely used stainless steel with good formability and can be readily welded. |
304L | Stainless Steel Tubing: Good for corrosion resistance: Offers better weld-ability than standard 304 Stainless Steel. |
316 | Stainless Steel Tubing: Better for corrosion resistance: Offers higher strength at higher temperature than 304 Stainless Steel. |
316L | Stainless Steel Tubing: Better for corrosion resistance: Offers better weld-ability than standard 316 Stainless Steel. |
