THE CHALLENGE

Provide high voltage connectors and contactors to empower electric supercars to achieve top speeds that have been out of reach of electric cars.

Our Approach

TE donated products and support for the Ohio State student-designed, battery-powered Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3. The supercar was designed to travel 400 miles per hour. Only a handful of gasoline-powered cars have ever achieved that speed; a feat which has, so far, been out of reach for electric vehicles. 

The Results

The Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3 is on course to break the 307 miles per hour electric car speed world record, set by its predecessor the Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2.5. TE helped advance the future of electric vehicles, collaborating with Ohio State by donating high voltage connectors and contactors that protect the supercar under extreme conditions.

One of the best ways we’ve been able to build our internal team is by forming relationships with organizations like Ohio State University. It’s a great pipeline for recruiting, and, at the same time, we’re able to utilize their resources as a research institution to help make TE products better.
