External short circuits or dangerous overtemperature conditions created by failed charge controls or abusive charging can create a safety hazard in lithium battery packs. TE circuit protection devices provide added safety for battery powered products.

An overcurrent / overtemperature event may occur in a battery cell due to short circuit, abusive charging or charger failure. PolySwitch axial-leaded and disk devices help protect against overcurrent or overtemperature faults.
Ni-Cd
