TE Medical Expands & Upgrades Medical Heat-Shrink Tubing Facility
Menlo Park, California – January 31, 2012 – TE Connectivity announces completion of the relocation and upgrade of our TE Medical Heat-Shrink Tubing manufacturing facility. The plant move and upgrade provides several advantages for TE Connectivity’s medical heat-shrink tubing customers, including expanded product offerings, tighter process control and more consistent responsiveness to customer demand.
The relocation creates a dedicated 16,000 square foot facility for the sole purpose of advanced medical tubing production. The manufacturing team within the new facility has more than 40 years of combined experience producing high performance heat-shrink tubing for the medical market. By focusing exclusively on the medical market, the TE Medical heat-shrink tubing facility will provide customers with consistent, high-performance medical tubing.
Along with relocation, the new facility includes significantly upgraded equipment for manufacturing medical tubing. TE Connectivity has made significant investments to enhance both extrusion and expansion equipment enabling improved quality, capacity and a broader portfolio. Since the upgraded equipment is only used to service medical customer demand, medical customers receive uninterrupted production priority, resulting in shorter, more consistent lead times. In turn, this helps customers reduce their R&D, production and validation time, facilitating faster time-to-market for their innovative new medical devices.

The advanced line of TE Connectivity medical heat-shrink tubing began with Raychem, the inventors of heat-shrink tubing technology. Our products include polyolefins and fluoropolymers with attributes tailored for specific key applications specified by our customers for their medical devices.
