Electric cooktops are steadily migrating to more elegant and functional designs that use ceramic or induction burner elements. TE offers burner connector solutions to reduce assembly time and eliminate assembly errors for higher reliability.
The wiring harness interconnects the Control Board to the various components throughout the cooking appliance, such as heating elements, temperature control switches, temperature sensors and limit switches, fans, etc. A typical wiring harness would include power and signal connectors, terminals and splices, heat shrink tubing and labels.
Basic cooking appliances control heating directly from temperature switches. Higher-end appliances control time and temperature from a Control Board. A typical Control Board will have wire-to-board power and signal connectors, sockets and relays.
The temperature control varies the cycle time of the heating element to achieve a set cooking temperature. Temperature controls connect to the wiring harness using terminals.
Cooking appliance fans circulate air in oven cavities for more even cooking, and remove heat from sensitive areas. Fan motors connect to the wiring harness using either terminals or multiposition connectors like MATE-N-LOK connectors.
