StreetInsider: TE Connectivity (TEL) Board Gives Nod to 13.8% Dividend Hike

TE Connectivity's (NYSE: TEL) Board of Directors approved a recommendation to increase the company's quarterly dividend by 14 percent, from $0.29 to $0.33 per share, for the four fiscal quarters starting in April 2015, the beginning of the third fiscal quarter. The recommendation would raise the company's dividend by 14 percent, from the annual rate of $1.16 per share to $1.32 per share, and will be presented for shareholder approval at the company's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on March 3, 2015. The recommendation represents the fifth consecutive year of double-digit increases to the company's annual dividend rate. More

ConnectorSupplier: Electronica 2014 Review: The Future is Connected

Where there are sensors, there are connectors – The combination of sensor technology and connectivity was another hot topic at the show. Connector industry leaders TE Connectivity, Amphenol, and Molex were showing their capabilities for integrating sensors in automotive components as well as many more potential applications in other market sectors. Acquisitions in the past two to three years by connector industry leaders of specialist sensor companies underscore the importance of this market for connector manufacturers. Converge Network Digest: Google Backs Massive Undersea Cable Linking Brazil and Florida

Construction is set to begin on a major new undersea cable linking Santos and Fortaleza in Brazil with Boca Raton, Florida. Backers of the project include Google, Algar Telecom (Brazil), Angola Cables (Angola) and Antel (Uruguay). The new cable will span 10,556 km (6,560 miles) and have six fiber pairs. Overall system design capacity is a massive 64 Tbps. TE Connectivity SubCom was awarded the construction contract for the project. Work will start immediately.
