December 19, 2012 – TE Connectivity, one of the world’s leading technology partners for railway companies, has developed the rugged wire and cable UV-SCE marker sleeve. This innovative solution preserves the integrity of sleeve markings on wires, cables and tubes outdoors under prolonged and extreme exposure to ultraviolet (UV) and harsh weather conditions.

The addition of the UV-SCE marker sleeve to the TE cable identification portfolio is in response to industry demand for applications within wire and cable environments where resistance to extreme UV and weather conditions is essential. This new product is well suited to applications within electrical, voice, data, video and outdoor security systems, addressing the needs of the Solar, Telecom (Networks), Offshore, Marine and Petrochemical industries.

The assembled and configured heat shrinkable UV-SCE marker sleeves provide outstanding physical performance, mark permanence and excellent legibility, ensuring long-term, outstanding performance of the TE cable identification service. Even after more than 25,000 hours of UV and moisture exposure, the long-lasting marker sleeve will not crack, chalk or fade, playing a vital role in the prevention of system failures.
