Description
AMP Mini MULTILOCK Connectors are the world's smallest waterproof connectors designed for use
with the rotary driving circuits of automobile door mirror units, and other applications which have but small confined space and which require consistent water resistance. Featuring simplified assembly operations, these connectors use crimp snap-in tab and receptacle contacts that are inserted into the housing preloaded with waterproof rubber stoppers and seal rings.
The housing is provided with a mechanism to prevent the wrong insertion of contacts. Moreover, for circuits not needed, cavity plugs may be used, making it possible to configure any connector
positions.
When contacts are inserted into the housing, there is a clear sound of click whereby contacts can be prevented from mating halfway. Contacts accept AWG #22-20 (0.3-0.5mm²) wire with insulation diameter of 1.4-1.7mm. Materials are tin-plated brass for tab contacts and tin-plated phosphor bronze for receptacle contacts. The housing is made of glass fiber reinforced PBT, light green, for both cap and plug connectors.
The connector consists of the following parts:
- Cap housing
- Plug housing
- Waterproof rubber stopper (preloaded in the rear of each housing)
- Waterproof seal ring (preloaded in the mating section of each housing)
- Tab contact (used on cap housing)
- Receptacle contact (used on plug housing)
- Cavity plug tab (embedded unused circuit)
