Spin Coupling
A spin-coupling adapter is a straight, simple two piece assembly comprising a spin coupling nut and a follower. The nut is threaded to screw onto a connector and the follower is designed to interface with the connector whilst providing a groove and knurled land for lipped molded part location and bonding. The design allows for re-enterability by rolling back the molded part.
A spin-coupling adapter is normally used for unshielded systems, but when used with a pre-installed Rayaten molded part in a KTKK assembly it gives a high performance shield termination. Adapters intended for use with Rayaten are plated with the R or Q adapter finish. Contact Raychem Direct Marketing for more information on Rayaten molded parts and KTKK assemblies.
Tinel Lock
Two piece assemblies comprising a spin-coupling nut, threaded to screw onto the connector and a follower machined to accept a Tinel ring shield termination. The follower is designed to interface with a connector whilst providing a groove and land for lipped molded part location and bonding.
The copper harness braid is terminated directly onto the adapter by shrinking the Tinel ring. The adapter entry size and Tinel ring must be selected to suit the cable diameter and braid type. HarnWare will help select the appropriate entry size and Tinel ring. Straight, 45° and 90° configurations are available. Tinel adapters with a short piece of pre-installed braid are also available.
The design allows for re-enterability by rolling back the molded part if a suitable entry size has been chosen. An installation tool is required to shrink the Tinel ring during assembly.
